HouseLens disclosure import privacy
This policy describes what the HouseLens disclosure import extension for Chrome reads, sends and stores when a real estate agent imports an authorized disclosure package into a Home in HouseLens. HouseLens is operated by Codylv LLC. Installing the extension is optional.
Updated October 28, 2026
What the extension does
The extension connects a HouseLens Home import page with the disclosure portal that holds that Home’s package on Disclosures.io or HomeLight. HouseLens reads the Home’s MLS package link and pins the Home, your account and the listing’s source timestamps; the extension opens exactly that link and cannot choose a different package or Home. You sign in on the portal yourself.
When the portal shows that your account already has access and the package heading matches the selected Home, the extension downloads the package’s original PDFs into memory and saves them into that same Home through your signed-in HouseLens page, one file at a time, then brings the HouseLens tab forward. It never submits an access request, share, invitation, offer, signature or message, and it never clicks a control that would do so. Imports are limited to 50 PDFs, 25 MB per file, 200 MB per session and 1,000 pages per file.
What it reads
On the portal pages it is allowed to run on, the extension reads the rendered property heading and locality, the declared document count, the document cards, and each report’s existing download link. It checks whether a sign-in form is present so HouseLens can tell you to sign in; it never reads the value of a password field or any other input.
On HouseLens Home import pages, it reads the Home and import identifiers in the page address so that every request stays bound to the Home you selected. It does not read cookies, browsing history, other websites, other tabs or saved passwords, and it requests none of Chrome’s permissions for them.
What it sends to HouseLens
Through your HouseLens import page, the extension sends the package inventory it observed (document names and counts and the portal’s update labels), each original PDF, that PDF’s SHA-256 hash and page count, and the state of the import. Requests use the HouseLens session already open in that page; the extension holds no HouseLens credential of its own.
Your portal sign-in credentials are never sent to HouseLens. The portal’s signed download links are used once, in memory, and are never logged, forwarded or stored. Downloads are accepted only from the portal’s PDF host; a redirect or any other host stops the import. Nothing is sent to anyone other than HouseLens and the portal you signed in to.
What it stores
The extension keeps only the record of an import in progress in Chrome’s session storage: its identifiers, its two tabs, the portal page it continued to, its expiry and whether a file transfer is under way, for at most two hours. The record is removed when the import completes, is cancelled or either tab closes. It stores no PDF, download link, cookie or credential.
Imported originals stay in the Home in HouseLens like any file you add there, with a browser-observed record of where they came from. Importing does not start HouseLens’s AI reading of those files; that happens only when you ask HouseLens to read them. Removing the extension does not delete files already imported.
Permissions
The extension asks Chrome for session storage and for access to four exact hosts: hlm.homelight.com, app.disclosures.io, disclosures.io and the portal’s PDF download host, disclosures-prod.s3.us-west-2.amazonaws.com. Its scripts run only on those portal pages and on HouseLens Home import pages. It does not ask for access to all websites, tabs, cookies, history, downloads, native messaging or debugging.
How HouseLens uses and shares it
HouseLens uses what the extension sends only to save the package you chose into the Home you selected, to show you the import’s receipt, to prevent abuse and to troubleshoot. HouseLens does not sell information obtained through the extension, does not use it for advertising, and does not use it for any purpose unrelated to that import. Saved files are shared only with the service providers that host HouseLens, and with the people the Home’s owner shares that Home with.
Your choices and deleting your data
You can remove the extension at any time from Chrome’s Extensions page. Removing it revokes its host access and stops any import in progress; a cancelled import keeps the files already saved. To delete imported files, remove them from the Home in HouseLens. For a deletion request or a privacy question, contact sign@houselens.ai.
